Welcome Davis!!

So, I'm just a couple of months behind on blogging!! Oops!

This little guy has kept me on my toes. He's sweet and soft and still has that new baby smell, which I can't seem to get enough of! Best of all, he's tough enough (or passive enough) to deal with his 2 big sisters as they borrow his paci, steel his blankets and "help" rock him to sleep in his swing. He's a trooper to say the least!! These are pictures from the week after we brought him home. I HAVE taken some pictures sense then, but it's sad to say, that by the 3rd kiddo, the camera just doesn't get used as much.
I'm a terrible mother! :)

Happy Birthday Addi!!

I can't believe that Addison is already 3!! I've been calling her my "big girl" lately, which she loves, but it's the truth. She's just growing up SO FAST! For her birthday, she got to ride a real horse! His name is Hawk & we've been talking about him everyday since. I was worried a little at first, of what kind of experience this would be. But Addi was fearless and even shouted "YeeHa" a few times. Hawk was gentle and patient, even understanding when Addi dug her boots into his sides on her 3rd "YeeHa".
Here she is waving, like she's done this a hundred times before or something..
Sydney loved Hawk too, but she more or less just hung on for dear life.
We celebrated Addi's birthday at Clay & Stacy Riebe's house. They're a SWEET couple from our church who offered their barn to us for the cowboy-themed party. It was perfect!!
I created a Main Street out of moving boxes that the kids could run in and out of.
Of course, Addi was more infatuated with the balloons. The boxes were old news to her, since she's been playing with them for weeks now.
She LOVED the stick-horse races though!! Here's everyone lined up..
And there they go. The perfect ploy to run out all of their energy! That's Sydney in the middle, trying her best to keep up.
The kids took their turn at the Pinata.
And we all went on a hay ride before calling it a night.
Happy Birthday sweet Addison!
As you say all the time..."You make me happy!"

Christmas 2010

Here are some snapshots of Christmas. We spent a few days with the Harris family the weekend before Christmas and then had Ben's family come visit us here for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. It was a great way to break it up. Plus, we got to celebrate twice, which the girls loved!

Here are the girls with their cousins Tristan, Kaylee & Kenlee.
Addi was already begging/pleading to open their presents.
Sydney LOVED this backpack & wore it the rest of the day.
Addi got a big-girl bike!
And I tried my best to cut myself OUT of this picture :)
Addi also got a dollhouse, which we tried to let her enjoy by herself for a few minutes. Our efforts were in vane, of course.
Ben's best attempt at distraction.
The last present under the tree (from Aunt Julie) became my prop for a cute sister's picture. This was our best one.
Or maybe this one...
And here are the girls (with goofy smiles) with Ben's parents and their cousin, sweet Emily.

Christmas Home Tour

Okay. I'm not sure where November went??
Apparently, I'm behind on my posts!!
So we'll just jump right into Christmas! I've been listening to Christmas music and pulling decorations out of the tubs in my garage. I LOVE this time of year! The lights, the ornaments, the sweets!! Does it get any better??
There's more pictures and decor ideas at That Village House.
Merry Christmas everyone!!

Trick or Treat!

Halloween could not get here soon enough this year.
Addi has been talking about being a zebra for weeks now! So tonight was the big night. I made sure to get some pictures before we left, not knowing how long the costumes would actually stay on. We couldn't figure out what zebras do (??) so Addi roared like a lion most of the night "on Sydney's behalf". She also galloped (skipped) from point A to point B, which seemed to keep her occupied...
I love this one.
I'll pretend for a minute that they're always this sweet to each other. Ahh!
I feared Sydney would mess with her lion's mane all night, but she instead messed with Addi's. Lovely.
We headed off to the Fall Festival and spent half of our time at the petting zoo. Sydney loved the goats! She gave this one a hug...
and had a full conversation with this guy.
Addi loved the goats too.
and they loved her costume.
The rabbit was a safer bet.
We played games...
And then headed off to trick or treat.
Addi insisted on riding her bike. I thought the situation had disaster written all over it, but she actually did great.
At each house she would say "thank you Mister". Something she learned from our Trick or Treat book. I explained it at the first few houses, but then gave up.
Sydney played with the yard decor.
And we all did our best to avoid this guy! He's on one of those electric scooters & stands about 9 feet tall. Are you kidding me??
Can you see him in this picture? Luckily, Addi was so enthralled in her candy, that she missed him altogether. Thank you Lord!
It was a great sugar-filled night. Addi has already decided that she wants to be a giraffe next year. I guess I have that long to figure out what giraffes do :)
